“My work is a catalogue of fragments, erasings, and reimaginings; infused by my experience of the local landscape and wider natural world.
I’m interested in how our memory of place distorts with time. I paint on the threshold of a liminal space, where sensory recall and freedom of mark combine.”
Matthew studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art. His work is informed by a lived experience of the natural landscape. He currently lives and works in Cornwall. Alongside his studio practice, Matthew has lectured at Central Saint Martins, Chelsea College of Arts, and, most recently, Falmouth University.
